Love Your Neighbor As Yourself
“Make sure the person next to you is more important than you are.”
Today, challenge yourself. Go above and beyond to smile at every person you see. Ask them how they are doing, get to know them :: The barista at Starbucks, the bank teller, the individual bagging your groceries. None of us ever know what the other person is walking through… Let them see Jesus inside of you. A simple smile could change their life. It sounds so simple.. and hey, it is that simple. We are never living just for ourselves. God is in every detail of our lives. He is so beyond our thinking process, and can use every step we take to change someones life, because He loves us all that much. Everything we do matters. Society has taught us that having a “huge platform” gives you more importance than a person that doesn’t have as large of a platform. Well that is a lie. If you are alive and breathing, YOU MATTER. My favorite scripture in the whole bible is known as “The Greatest Commandment.” It was just hours before Jesus Christ was to be crucified. People gathered around Jesus… and they asked “Out of ALL these things you have taught and spoke of, what would be the most important…” and He responded with “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength, and Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these.” Wow… He was about to be crucified… His last hours on earth, everything He said and did was extremely close to His heart… and He painted such a beautiful picture of what life is truly about. Love God with EVERYTHING, and love EVERYONE. We live and breathe, to live for others. Love that person that crosses your path today. They need to see Jesus through you.
